• Janet for using social media to check in on a quarantined senior participant in her balance class to keep them fit while the gym is closed.

• Sirloin Stockade for their delicious and much-needed food donations to the emergency shelter. Our clients were so touched (and well fed), from Turning Point Domestic Violence Services.

• the companies showing their care and support for all employees, not just those who work from home.

• ColumBus driver Tim for helping out a rider, from Michael.

• Columbus Regional Hospital behind-the-scenes support staff who help CRH work and provide services so medical staff can attend to the sick.

• all those working to help make life as normal as possible during this abnormal time.

• St. Paul Clifty for all the love, support and prayers to the Dougherty family, we are thankful for such a supportive, loving church family, from the Dougherty’s.

• the clearheaded who realize that neither the law nor the Constitution matter much to the federal elected official, unless it’s the Second Amendment that plays to his base.

• the president’s coronavirus task force and the CDC for obtaining virus test kits, which are manufactured per specific quality protocol, which ensure accurate results.

• our neighbors Matt and Kim and family for your help and kindness.

• the lady in the gray Jeep who paid for my order at McDonald’s on Thursday morning.

• Tyla Kelly for picking up groceries for us, from the Perry’s.

• St. Peter’s Lutheran Church for calling members and checking on them.

• Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. for showing compassion for delivering food to children at home who might go hungry without the deliveries.

• Matt Hunter Guttering for the best job ever on our new gutters.

• the grocery stores and all the hardworking personally keeping all of Columbus fed.

• Debra and Julie Greene for all you have done since I broke my hip.

• newspaper and mail delivery people, Meals-on-Wheels drivers and medical personal for serving.

Onions to …

• the lady in the check-out lane at Kroger, sneezing and coughing.

• the citizens who have a problem with schools delivering food to kids at home and saying it’s not the school’s problem.

• the county officials for putting employees and their families at risk by requiring non-essential personnel to continue face to face work when many can work just as efficiently by telecommuting, from vulnerable employees.

• county officials for going against health care recommendations of true social distancing by requiring employees to continue to work in environments that put their health at risk when many can continue to provide support from home, from a concerned citizen.

• patrons who continue to go to open gyms.

• taking away our only indoor place to walk while gyms remain open.

• the federal elected official who claimed he knew it was a pandemic before it was even called that, yet apparently did little or no preparation ahead of time.

• people who don’t want to raise the minimum wage while wondering why children need free or reduced lunches at school.

• the federal elected official for proclaiming he knew COVID-19 was a pandemic long before anyone else while the reality was he wasted valuable time claiming it was a Democrat hoax.

• anyone who believes we need more tire stores, car dealerships, or bank branches, especially those built on empty lots.

• the federal elected official and cable network for introducing and promoting “fake news” and “deep state” to the public, resulting in millions of Americans refusing to believe we are in the midst of a national health emergency.

• gyms that continue to remain open in an attempt to profit from the coronavirus.

• the major factory in Columbus for not shutting down during a pandemic.

• the school corporation that is seeking a raise to pay the teachers more when they have 900 some staff people and 700 some teachers. They have a huge overhead burden; the easiest source for more funds is to cut that burden back.

• the people for complaining about the kids being fed.

• the federal elected official who fired the pandemic experts within a few months of taking office who could have been working on this coronavirus situation since we learned about it and we would not now be in such a dire situation.

• the person continually putting misinformation in the paper about the coronavirus being less deadly than the regular flu when in reality, it is 10 times more deadly.

• the federal government for not preparing for a pandemic resulting in nurses and doctors having to tear off pieces of gowns to use as face masks.

• the federal government for not yet shutting down the entire country, potentially causing thousands of more deaths.

• no ventilators being produced for this country until June.

• the gyms, clothing stores, accessory stores, etc. that have chosen to stay open during this pandemic, putting money ahead of everyone’s safety and health.

• those gyms that continue to remain open to profit from the coronavirus.

• people who are hoarding food marked low sodium or no salt added who don’t have high blood pressure, please consider leaving it on the shelf for those of us who are a bit more vulnerable.
