Deputies arrest Crothersville varsity basketball coach, athletic director on charge of child solicitation

JACKSON COUNTY — Jackson County Sheriff deputies have arrested Crothersville High school’s varsity basketball coach and athletic director Gregory T. Kilgore, 52, of Crothersville, on a Level Five felony charge of child solicitation.

The sheriff’s department received a report March 18 about inappropriate messages being sent through social media from Kilgore to a 14-year-old female student at Crothersville Jr.-Sr. High School, deputes said.

Detective Mark Holt conducted the initial investigation into the allegations after being contacted by Jackson County Department of Child Services.

Due to content located in the messages, Kilgore was arrested and charged with child solicitation, deputies said.

Jackson County detectives located Kilgore at an address in Jennings County on Wednesday, at 11:06 a.m. Kilgore was taken to the Jackson County Jail where he is being held until his initial hearing in Jackson Circuit Court, deputies said.
