Letter: Action needs to be taken against China

Big problems require bold solutions, and China is now a big problem.

It has become a national security issue that requires decisive action.

How did we let a country that eats bat and monkey meat have such a negative influence on our lives and the future of our country? Bottle rockets would be the only rockets China and North Korea would be launching if China had not stolen America’s guidance systems.

The USA needs to separate itself from China ASAP.

The bold solution is that on July 4, 2020, we declare a second Declaration of Independence as follows:

“We the People” in order to protect our nation, will no longer purchase products made in China effective July 4, 2021.

“We the People” in order to protect our nation will no longer purchase products that contain any component parts made in China effective July 4, 2022.

This will allow retailers 12 months to sell their inventory of products made in China and an additional 12 months to source products without Chinese component parts.

This is a tall order and it will not be easy. There will be shortages and substantial price increases. So be it. If we drag it out longer it will never happen.

America’s economic freedom is at stake and defending it will require self-discipline and sacrifice.

The increased prices may cause myself and some my fellow seniors, the sons and daughters of “The Greatest Generation,” to die broke, but we’ll go down swinging. Our parents would expect no less.

The collective power of the American consumer is awesome and can be a driving force in making a clean break from China.

Now is the time for “We the People” to stand together, with faith and determination, to declare America’s second Declaration of Independence.

Truth be known, China needs us a lot more than we need them.

A point of clarification, “We the People” is actually the beginning of our Constitution, but I just love the sound of it.

Please join me and boycott all products made in China effective July 4, 2021 and all products with component parts made in China effective July 4, 2022.
