COLUMBUS
Hiram C. “H.C.” Adams, 83, of Columbus, died at 8:03 a.m. April 23, 2020, at his home.
H.C. was born February 4, 1937, in Viper, Kentucky, the son of Shirdin and Vada Campbell Adams. He married Maude Bowles September 6, 1958; she preceded him in death July 17, 2014.
Thoughout his life, H.C. was a brick mason by trade. He enjoyed bowling and loved to garden, fish and listen to gospel bluegrass music.
H.C. loved his three dogs, Zoey, Uno and Callie. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at Old Union Cemetery with the Rev. Glenn Poynter officiating.
Memorials may be made to Old Union Cemetery or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in memory of H.C.
Survivors include his sons, Danny (Sheryl) Adams and Scott (Dale Ann) Adams, both of Columbus; daughters, Gwen (Steve) Pattingill and Terri Engleking, both of Columbus; brothers, Wallace (Jeanett) Adams of Peogi, Indiana, Jim (Joyce) Adams of Columbus and David Adams of Shelbyville; sisters, Hila (Mike) Illing of Dillsboro, and Anna Mae Zieleniuk, Emily (Alvie) Stidham and Linda (Sonny) Brown, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Cortney Boley, Beth Adams, Brooke Adams, Adrian Adams, Brandy Schwering, Danielle Brown, Jake Adams, Rachel Burke, Bryan Stickens, Aaron Stickans and Andrea Adams-Gootee; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maude; brothers, Finley C. Adams, Chester Adams and Roger Adams; and sisters, Ila Hounshell, Carol Duncan and Sara Bennett.
