JACKSON COUNTY — A Bartholomew County man was arrested Wednesday morning on a murder charge.
Few details about the arrest of Tobias E. Au, 30, of Hope are available at this time.
Au, who was arrested by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, was booked into the Jackson County Jail on the murder charge at 11:43 a.m. Wednesday and was being held without bond pending his initial court hearing.
According to a news release from Lt. Adam Nicholson with the sheriff’s department, police responded to a report of a shooting in the eastern part of the county at 5:37 a.m. Wednesday.
When officers arrived they found a deceased male, and Au and a witness to the shooting were interviewed, Nicholson said.
According to the county police incident log, a man reported he had shot a male who was violating a protective order at an apartment in the 2700 block of Bent Tree Lane. That call was received by dispatch at 5:39 a.m. Wednesday.

JACKSON COUNTY — Jackson County Sheriff deputies have arrested a Hope man on a murder charge after an early-morning shooting on the east side of Jackson County.
Jackson County Sheriff Rick Meyer said Tobias Au, 30, Hope, has been arrested on a charge of murder.

Deputies were called to a shooting at 5:37 a.m. today where they found a male deceased, Meyer said.
A subject and a witness were interviewed before Au was arrested, according to the department.
