Ivy Tech Community College Columbus will have a virtual commencement Friday to honor its graduating class of 2020.
Virtual commencement will premiere as a video on the Ivy Tech Columbus YouTube channel at 6 p.m. Friday and feature the opportunity to chat live with campus administrators, faculty and staff.
A link will be made available to view the virtual commencement premiere. The virtual commencement will be held in place of the campus’ in-person ceremony as a safe celebration for the Class of 2020.
Any 2020 graduate who wishes to participate in an in-person ceremony will be invited to the spring 2021 commencement. This virtual ceremony will feature many of the traditions and formalities of the campus’ in-person ceremony. The outstanding graduates for each of the campus’ academic programs will be announced.
During the premiere, Ivy Tech Columbus will encourage viewers to share photos and videos of their graduates and their family and friends celebrating through any social media platform with the hashtag #ivycolumbusgrads. Anyone unable to view the premiere will be able to watch it at any time afterward. It will be available on the Ivy Tech Columbus YouTube channel and shared on the campus Facebook page, facebook.com/ivytechcolumbus.
