UIndy’s Ertel claims Sportsmanship Award

Keri Ertel has been selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award winner from University of Indianapolis track and field.

Ertel, a senior hurdler from Jennings County, was one of 16 individuals from the 16 GLVC schools to be honored for track and field. The honorees, who were chosen by their coaches, have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior, must be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.

Ertel and the selections in the other sports now are eligible to be chosen as one of UIndy’s two overall James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners. Those will be announced on Monday.
