COLUMBUS, INDIANA
Shawn Allen Huckaby, 49, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 2:36 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2020 at the Columbus Regional Hospital.
Shawn was born March 23, 1971, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Michael G. and Catherine M. Banks Huckaby.
Shawn was a 1989 graduate of Columbus East High School. He was a designer engineer at Columbus Container, now Packaging Corporation of America, for many years.
The Huckaby family has attended Bethel Baptist Church over the years. Some of Shawn’s hobbies and interest include, fishing, mushroom hunting, ginseng digging, go-kart racing, mechanics, grilling and gardening.
Shawn is survived by his children, Zoee Huckaby of Columbus and Braden Huckaby of Columbus; his parents, Michael and Catherine Huckaby of Columbus; his paternal grandmother, Freda Huckaby Brown of Columbus; a sister, Dawn (Clint) Huckaby of Seymour; a brother, Jon (Kelly) Huckaby of Houston, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Shawn was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Olen Huckaby and maternal grandparents, Clayton and Dolly Banks.
Private visitation will be held at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Bethel Baptist Cemetery; the Reverend Harold Summers will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice of charities.
