Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. board members awarded a contract to a company to replace the roof on Mt. Healthy Elementary School.
Of the four bidders, Southern Roofing, Columbus, was found to be the lowest responsible bid. The contract amount for the roof replacement will be“$1,524,800, including selected alternates and allowances, according to bid documents.
In other items, the board, which met online and livestreamed its meeting on social media, approved a BCSC Health & Wellness Clinic lease agreement, which will move the clinic from its current location at Doctors Park to a new location on Schnier Drive. “It is a move that allows us to have some additional space, so over time we can have the opportunity to expand our capacity to serve the employees of our school corporation,” said Superintendent Dr. Jim Roberts. “The lease amount per month is a negligible increase for that additional square footage and space.”
The board also set the planned start date for the 2020-21 school year, for students, is Aug. 6.
