CPD seeks tips in Union Street shooting

The Columbus Police Department is seeking information about a shooting that injured a woman on Thursday night.

At approximately 11:45 p.m., Columbus police officers responded to the 2200 block of Union Street in regards to the shooting, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

The officers arrived a short time later and provided care to the victim, an adult female, who was in the street and had gunshot wounds to her lower body, Harris said. Officers provided initial care to the victim and paramedics took over upon their arrival.

The 48-year-old woman was transported by paramedics to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment, Harris said. Her injuries were not believed to be life threatening, Harris said.

Detectives advised that witnesses reported seeing a silver colored sport utility vehicle leaving the area of the shooting, Harris said.
