
As of 1 p.m., Bartholomew County election officials had counted “well over” 5,000 of the 8,319 mail-in ballots cast in the presidential primary, said Bartholomew County Clerk Jay Phelps.
Additionally, 3,043 voters had voted at one of eight vote centers in the county by 1 p.m., Phelps said.. Donner Center, 739 22nd St., has had the highest turnout of any polling location, with 676 votes cast as of 1 p.m.
Phelps said he is now estimating that he and his staff will have the results tabulated for the mail-in ballots between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. tonight, with the rest of the results expected to be posted around 9 p.m.
