The Lakers had advanced to the state finals by winning Monday’s qualifier at The Legends by one shot over Center Grove Legacy, the team that ended up winning the state title.
“It just goes to show you how golf works sometimes,” said Andrew Weisheit, an assistant pro at Harrison Lake Country Club who coached the Lakers. We beat them at The Legends. We had lots of birdies and eagles on Monday, but (Wednesday) and today, we didn’t have many par-breakers.”
Center Grove Legacy edged Straight Off the Couch, a team from Carmel, 618-619. Vikings, a team from Valparaiso, finished third with a 631.
