A Bartholomew County Sheriff deputy arrested an Indianapolis woman after a traffic stop on I-65 early Thursday morning.
Deputy Brandon Sellers was traveling southbound on I-65 at 1:52 a.m. Thursday when he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in a 70 mph zone, deputies said.
After initiating a traffic stop near the 68 mile marker, Sellers found that the suspect vehicle had a false fictitious license tag.
While speaking with the driver, identified as Amanda Maynard, 43, Indianapolis, Sellers found that Maynard did not have a valid driver’s license. After smelling the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, deputies then located suspect methamphetamine, marijuana and drug-related paraphernalia. The vehicle had also been reported stolen out of Indianapolis.

Maynard was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of:
- Possession of a stolen vehicle
- Possession of methamphetamine
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of paraphernalia
- Driving while suspended with a prior conviction
She has since been released from the Bartholomew County Jail.
