PERU — Otter Creek director of operations and pro Jon Hoover carded a 3-over-par 75 in Monday’s opening round and is tied for 56th place in the Indiana Open Championship at Rock Hollow.
Former Columbus North and Ball State golfer and current mini-tour pro Michael VanDeventer is tied for 66th after an opening-round 76. Former North and current Hillsdale College golfer Drew Smith shot 80 and is tied for 104th.
Brad Gehl of Carmel leads the field after a 6-under 66. Eight golfers are tied for second three shots back at 3-under 69.
The field will be cut to the low 70 players and ties following today’s second round.
