State: COVID-19 death toll for Indiana at 2,610 cases, with 193 additional cases listed as probable

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) today announced that 747 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and private laboratories. That brings to 54,813 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus.

A total of 2,610 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of eight over the previous day. Another 193 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH and occurred over multiple days.

To date, 604,635 tests have been reported to ISDH, up from 595,558 on Thursday.

Bartholomew County is reporting 619 cases (up seven) and 45 deaths (no change).

The Bartholomew County Health Department is reporting 9,334 tests have been administered in the cou8nty with the 619 positive results. There have been 7,424 negative test results and 1,513 tests are pending, according to the health department.

The number of positives of Bartholomew County residents may include testing that was conducted out of county. Conversely, the number of total tests may also include submissions for non-Bartholomew County residents. The counts listed for positives and deaths is only for Bartholomew County residents

Surrounding counties reported:

  • Jackson County: 489 positive cases (up three) and three deaths (no change).
  • Jennings County: 183 positive cases (up one) and 12 deaths (no change).
  • Decatur County: 260 positive cases (up one) and 32 deaths (no change).
  • Shelby County: 472 positive cases (up six) and 25 deaths (no change).
  • Johnson County: 1,405 positive cases (up 11) and 118 deaths (no change).
  • Brown County: 50 positive cases (up three) and one death (no change).

As of Friday, more than 34 percent of ICU beds and more than 83 percent of ventilators were available statewide.
