COLUMBUS
Billy K. Fisher, 97, of Columbus, died at 8:20 p.m. July 30, 2020, at Hickory Creek at Columbus.
Billy was born April 21, 1923, in Columbus, the son of Fred J. and Helena Bense Fisher. He married Maxine N. Skaggs September 24, 1954; she preceded him in death in 1987.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in WWII. Billy retired from Arvin’s as a tool and die maker and also owned a cattle farm. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Teike officiating. Calling will be from 10 a.m. Tuesday until service time. Burial will be held at Garland Brook Cemetery with military honors presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
All visitors are required to wear face masks.
Memorials may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in memory of Billy.
Survivors include his sons, Bill (Mindy) Fisher and Max (Tina) Fisher, both of Columbus; grandchildren, Elizabeth “Liz” (Bryan) Fisher Pineda, Abby Fisher, Katie Fisher, Ashley Olmstead, Alex Fisher, and Aaron Fisher; and great-grandchildren, Mateo Pineda and Lilah Olmstead
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Maxine.
