City utilities issues Friday boil water advisory for Reed Street area

Columbus City Utilities has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for Friday for customers on Reed Street from 10th Street to 7th Street; on Short Wilson Street from 10th Street to 9th Street; and on 9th Street from Wilson Street to Reed Street. This precautionary measure is necessary due to a shutdown associated with water system improvements in the area.

Customers are asked to boil cooking and drinking water for five (5) minutes until notified that the water has passed laboratory testing. The boil water advisory will be in effect starting at 8 a.m. Friday.  Customers will be notified when the order is lifted.

Customers who have provided phone numbers to the utility will receive robocalls. All customers affected will receive a door hanger notice prior to, and upon completion of the testing.

There will be a temporary water outage beginning on Friday at 80 a.m. to approximately 4  p.m. to make improvements.

Columbus City Utilities appreciates everyone’s cooperation during this activity.
