• God for hearing and answering my prayer concerning my car, St. Michael for praying with me, and Chris Smith from Wrights Salvage in Nashville for fixing and tightening the hose on my broken-down van.

• my grandson, Caysen Phelps, for his team having a great success in the soccer tourney over the weekend.

• Crowder and Farnell for the quick and efficient survey of our property, much appreciated as well as fairness in pricing.

• Miss Nielson for making music so fun, from Richards kindergarten.

• Richards Elementary PTO and Texas Roadhouse for "taters for teachers" that were shared with all staff member for lunch Wednesday! Much appreciated, from Richards teachers and staff.

• whole NBA teams boycotting for racial justice.

• the Republican convention for presenting optimism for the future, a return to law and order and a promise of no socialism.

• the Milwaukee Bucks for taking a stand.

• retired BCSC teacher Christie Shaff for a generous donation of a Richards Raider mask for each staff member, from Richards Elementary School teachers and staff.

• those putting on the Our Hospice fundraiser fish fry for overcoming, adapting and not canceling, job well done.

• Barack Obama who asked the American people to save our country and embrace our own responsibilities as citizens so that democracy may endure.

• the kind and caring people who helped the lady who fell in the Walmart parking lot.

• Greenbelt Golf Course graduate Tyler Duncan for second place at the BMW tourney.

• our federal elected official who demonstrates he never was and never will be a puppet.

• allowing no excuse absentee ballots.

• Rex Banks for helping Tom get me up after I fell, it was appreciated, from neighbors Tom and Judy Goddard.

• the nice couple who picked me up after I fell on Talley Road.

• President Trump, Vice President Pence, and the Republican party for an outstanding inspirational and diverse national convention.

Onions to …

• cancel culture that won’t accept the truth and listen to logic and reason.

• having schools open and government meetings but canceling the 9/11 remembrance.

• drivers who think tailgating is going to make me go any faster when I am already driving the speed limit, those signs aren’t just a recommendation!

• those assuming office staff requested sneeze guards – we did not! from office staff members.

• all who turn a blind eye and do not condemn the widespread rioting, burning, hate and violence.

• the horrible quality of street repair work between the factory and the new gym.

• officials claiming to be overwhelmed with applications for mail in ballots.

• those who say they collect money to protect themselves but only focus on whining when they get a voice.

• those responsible for the eyesore apartment pond and dog run.

• the federal elected official’s supporters for not fact checking what he says because he told more than 20 lies Thursday.

• those who don’t realize a true leader actually wants advisers not to always be in agreement.

• anyone who thinks they are safe in the federal elected official’s America with more than 180,000 of us dead, and counting.

• the schools for not asking or sharing how Bridge is going at secondary schools, the view is not nearly as good at that level.

• the political party wrecking the economy, taking no responsibility and blaming everyone else for the mess.

• the ironic opinion writer who decries "negativity," but who is biased and negative toward those who do not share his world view.

• the federal elected official for weakening the postal service to invalidate the coming election.

• the reality show leader using the White House as a prop and turning his acceptance speech into a coronavirus super-spreader event.

• the local leader who thinks the federal elected official is well spoken.

• military training of police and the unions that protect the bad apples.

• the administration’s cruel policy of separating children from their parents.

• those who listen, buy into, and perpetuate gossip, failing to admit the truth found in the fact that every story has two sides.

• federal officials who want us to vote for them based on law and order platforms failing to realize what has occurred in the last three and a half years as far as law and order happened under their watch.

• people who can’t appreciate a positive, can-do, pro-American convention.

• all who are involved in keeping the schools open when people keep dying.
