
BRADENTON, FLORIDA, FORMERLY OF COLUMBUS
Winfred “Putt” Barnsfather, 73, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Columbus, died at 1:45 p.m. on August 21, 2020, at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, Florida.
Putt was born in Pleasureville, Kentucky, on August 4, 1947, the son of Charles and Ruth Barnsfather.
He was a graduate of Columbus High School. Putt was employed with Reeves Reliance throughout his life in various capacities until his retirement in June 2009. He loved fishing, especially salmon fishing. He also loved to play bingo and go to garage sales.
The funeral will be conducted at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home on Friday, September 18, 2020, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Karen Sutherland officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial of Putt will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery immediately after the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Friends and family are invited to the visitation hours; however, the memorial service is reserved for family only. All visitors are required to wear face masks and are reminded to practice social distancing.
Survivors include his daughter, Tina (John) Stephens of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Courtney (Canaan) Bowman of Elizabethtown and John “Johnboy” (Lauryn) Stephens of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Jazmine White of Edinburgh, Keighney Bowman of Elizabethtown, and new arrival Leighton Bowman of Elizabethtown; sister, Helen Wheatley of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Linda S. Barnsfather; his parents; brothers, Charles, Morrison, Hillis, and Gebus Barnsfather; sisters, Katie Kinman, Virginia Malone, and Mary Sylvia; and second wife, Esther Barnsfather on August 20, 2020.
