East wins in three
NEW ALBANY — Columbus East remained unbeaten in the Hooiser Hills Conference with a 25-21, 25-14, 25-13 win Thursday at New Albany.
Cadence Gilley led the Olympians (7-4, 4-0) with 14 digs and two aces. Reece Whitehead pounded 13 kills, Katy Jordan recorded 24 assists and Gabby Dean had three solo and two assist blocks.
Also for East, Libby Dippold notched seven kills, and Saige Stahl added five kills and 10 digs. Whitehead tallied 10 digs, and Jordan added nine digs.
Eagles top Lancers
EDINBURGH — Brown County and Edinburgh split a close first two sets, but the Eagles took the final two to claim a 25-23, 24-26, 25-17, 25-17 victory.
Abigail Bowman led the Eagles (7-7) with 25 assists and five aces. Lauren Akles pounded 14 kills, Savannah Oden had two blocks and Londyn Koester notched 19 digs. Abigail Watson tallied eight kills, and Mary Rygiel added five kills, 11 digs and three aces.
Alyssa Funkhouser led the Lancers (5-13) with 16 assists, and three aces. Carly Cowan pounded six kills, Malkia Willard had two blocks and Jessica Walsh notched 10 digs. Carly Cowan tallied six kills, six digs and two aces; Gracie Crawhorn added three kills, one block, six digs and one ace and Walsh served two aces.
Cougars sweep Saints
INDIANAPOLIS — Class A No. 1 Trinity Lutheran cruised to a 25-10, 25-19, 25-14 victory at Indianapolis Lutheran.
Kamzi Gross led the Cougars (18-3) with 26 digs and five aces. Kennedy Hoffman pounded 10 kills, Bailey Reynolds recorded 23 assists and Bailey Tabeling had two blocks.
Also for Trinity, Sydney Jaynes notched nine kills, and Tabeling added six kills. Ruthie Bingham tallied five assists, Stella Kleffman posted 19 digs and Reynolds added 16 digs and two aces.
BOYS TENNIS
Owls edge Olympians
Seymour won three matches in straight sets in handing Columbus East a 3-2 defeat.
Daniel Murphy beat Reuben Kruse 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, and Emmit Romine downed Joe Schmidt 5-7, 6-4, (10-6) at No. 3 singles for the Olympians (5-6).
East’s Pranav Kumar fell to Hunter Heckman 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Derek Heideman and Matthew Degner lost to Brandon Hubbard and Andrew Levine 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, and Erik Tahahashi and Carlos Fernandez fell to Sam Baker and Eli Meyer 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Lancers nip Saints
INDIANAPOLIS — Edinburgh swept the singles matches in a 3-2 win at Indianapolis Lutheran.
Max Blandford beat Reese Bullock 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Travis Jones downed Cade Tabit 7-5, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Chase Littlejohn topped Blake Miller 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles for the Lancers (5-5).
Edinburgh’s Cash Cunningham and Ian Buchanan fell to Cohl Erwin and Cole Perkins 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Trevor Moon and Braedyn Johnson lost to Hpung Aung and Isaac Vance 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
Twisters topple Panthers
NORTH VERNON — Oldenburg Academy won four matches in straight sets in a 4-1 win at Jennings County.
Ryan Schuck beat Hunter Schuckman 6-3, 7-6 (2) at No. 3 singles for the Panthers (3-8).
Jennings’ Owen Law fell to Michael Wanstrath 6-4, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Gage Gasper lost to Riley Schebler 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Jacob Vogel and Greyson Jackson fell to Jacob Sheets and Jon Grieshop 7-6 (6), 6-4 at No. 1 doubles, and Connor Euler and Jansen McDonald lost to Patrick Thompson and Ethan Back 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
GIRLS GOLF
Lancers take second
GREENSBURG — Morgan Calhoun won medalist honors with a 43 to lead Edinburgh to a second-place finish in a tri match at North Branch. Southwestern (Shelby) won with a 201 to 212 for the Lancers and 244 for host North Decatur.
Annelise Lollar carded a 50 for Edinburgh. Serenity Smith added a 58, Jillian Turner shot 61 and Izzy Richardson had a 66.

Dragons stop Panthers
SELLERSBURG — Playing for the second time in as many days, Jennings County fell 3-1 at Silver Creek.
Gabbie Bates scored the goal off an assist from Kenna Maschino for the Panthers (5-7), who were outshot 18-4. Tori Lee recorded 10 saves.
Tiger Cubs blank Eagles
GREENCASTLE — Brown County couldn’t find the net in a 10-0 Western Indiana Conference loss at Greencastle.
Isa Fogg posted eight saves, and Sarah Callahan added four saves for the Eagles (0-8, 0-6).
BOYS SOCCER
Warriors top Trinity
SCOTTSBURG — Trinity Lutheran opened up play in Scottsburg’s Warrior Cup with a 9-0 loss to Scottsburg.
The Warriors outshot the Cougars (1-6) 44-15. Peyton Pollert posted 35 saves.
