COLUMBUS
Melinda Rose Metzger O’Leary 64, of Columbus, passed from this life October 19, 2020 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Melinda was born December 4, 1956, in Columbus, the daughter of Leslie Harrison and Sylvia May Silence Metzger. She married Robert O’Leary on September 9, 2008, and he survives. A 1975 graduate of Columbus East High School, Melinda also attended Harrison Business college, and went on to obtain her CPA. Mrs. O’Leary was employed at West Trucking. She also formerly worked at Toyota Industries.
Survivors include her sisters, Charlene Metzger Robbins (David) of Seymour, and Nancy Metzger Solomon of Columbus. Also surviving are her nieces Crystal Cannon (Robert) of Clarksville, Indiana, Katherine Piercefield (Joseph) of Seymour, Indiana. Nephews Jeffrey Solomon (Kendra) of Columbus, Indiana, Les Solomon (Lauren) of Edinburgh, Indiana, Steven Solomon (Hayette Lake) of Columbus, Indiana and Mark Solomon (Caitlin Clancy) of Columbus, Indiana. Also surviving are great-nieces Sunseri Cannon, Clarksville, Indiana, Peyton Piercefield, Seymour, Indiana, Alison Solomon, Columbus, Indiana, Alyssa Solomon of Columbus, Indiana, Alexis Solomon of Columbus, Indiana, and great-great-niece Charlotte Ison of Columbus, Indiana. She is also survived by several cousins.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Cremation is being planned. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
