DAYTON, Tenn. — Columbus Christian landed in the top bracket of the National Association of Christian Athletes volleyball tournament for the second consecutive year, but fell to No. 1 seed Rolling Hills Christian School (Shepherdsville, Kentucky) 25-11, 25-18 in the quarterfinals on Friday.
The No. 8 seeded Cruasders led 13-12 in the second set and were within 20-18 before Rolling Hills scored the final five points to close the match.
Madison Henderson recorded five kills, one assist block and 13 digs; Hannah Stair notched two kills, five digs and one ace; Emily Stair tallied two kills, seven assists and three digs and Kayla Jones had 11 digs to lead the Crusaders (25-6-1). Hannah Stair was named to the Division I All-Tournament team.
Also for Columbus Christian, Kinidy Morgan posted three digs, Kenna Conrad contributed one kill and one dig, Lila Hudson had one dig and Lindsey Hunnicutt aded one assist block.
The Crusaders had gone 3-0 on Wednesday and 1-1 on Thursday to earn a spot in the Division I bracket. Their finish was their highest ever at that level.
