COLUMBUS, Ind. — Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies arrested a local man after it was revealed he was driving a stolen truck in a local neighborhood.
Deputy Grant Carlson saw a truck entering a neighborhood near 11th and California streets in Columbus at about 4:14 p.m. Sunday, deputies said.
When deputies located the truck, near Eighth and Sycamore streets, it was unoccupied, deputies said. An investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen from Hamilton County.
Later that evening, deputies received a tip that the suspect, identified as Travis Ray White, 34, Elwood, was at a local Columbus business. Deputies were able to arrest White as he exited the store. He was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of felony possession of stolen property with a prior conviction, felony possession of methamphetamine and an out-of-county warrants for burglary and vehicle theft, deputies said.
White remains in the Bartholomew County Jail, being held without bond, jail officials said.
