Bull Dog Pantry accepting donations

Columbus North High School’s Bull Dog Pantry is accepting donations for its pre-bagged Thanksgiving dinner distribution. The event is set for Nov. 13 and provides ready-to-cook meals to BCSC families for the upcoming holiday.

The food pantry’s coordinator, Tonya Cruser, posted on Facebook that the pantry is accepting donations of $20 Kroger gift cards as well as food donations for the cause.

After the event’s first 120 reservation spots filled up, Cruser began seeking donations to feed the 30 families on the waiting list, as well as any more who might register. Giving the current situation with eLearning and time constraints, there was not enough time for the food pantry itself to purchase and bag additional meals.

While donors have committed to cover more than enough food for these families, Cruser is still accepting food and gift card donations. Food donations should be placed in reusable shopping bags (so that they are ready to distribute) and then dropped off at North by Friday morning at the latest.

Donors should assemble the following items:

4 cans of green beans

4 cans of corn

2 packages of instant mashed potatoes

2 cans of carrots

2 boxes of stuffing

1 jar of gravy

1 can of cranberry sauce

2 cans of sweet potatoes

1 container of chicken broth

1 pie

Those interested in donating should contact Cruser through Facebook or by emailing her at crusert@bcsc.k12.in.us.
