State: 4,335 additional Hoosiers diagnosed with COVID-19

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health today announced that 4,335 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 333,312 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.

A total of 5,418 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 24 from the previous day. Another 267 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.

To date, 2,188,928 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 2,174,751 on Saturday. A total of 4,222,028 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.

Bartholomew County reported 3,473 positive tests (up 66) with 65 deaths (no change) on Sunday.

Surrounding counties reported:

  • Jackson County: 2,355 positive cases (up 49) with 34 deaths (no change).
  • Jennings County: 978 positive cases (up 46) with 14 deaths (no change).
  • Decatur County: 1,371 positive cases (up 15) with 44 deaths (up one).
  • Shelby County: 1,998 positive cases (up 49) with 59 deaths (up two).
  • Johnson County: 6,973 positive cases (up 106) with 170 deaths (up one).
  • Brown County: 370 positive cases (up four) with five deaths (no change).
