Letter: Too many were selfish over the holidays

From: Pat Walkos

Like all of us, I have been going through this pandemic since the end of March 2020.

Like some of us, I have been following the guidelines set down by the CDC, our governor, and our mayor.

Do I like it? No. But I am doing it because I care about the community, my family, and myself.

Unfortunately, some people couldn’t wait to get on planes to spread the joy of the season with their loved ones when in fact they were spreading the virus — and possibly making their loved ones very sick and even killing them.

Why couldn’t everyone wait until another year?

What did those people just have to have from the stores that they could not wait to get?

What meal did they have to eat at a restaurant that couldn’t have been ordered to pick up or have delivered?

I can’t wait to get the vaccine — and you can bet I will get it.

I know that some of you won’t, but that’s OK. That leaves more for the rest of the smart people who care about the people they love.
