COLUMBUS, Ind. — Two local men were arrested after a caller notified Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies about suspicious behavior at a storage facility at 11:07 p.m. Sunday.
Deputies were sent to Storage Express, 4360 E. State St., where the caller reported two males were on the property but had not entered through the front gate, deputies said.
The caller said one of the males was breaking into storage units while the other man was on lookout. When deputies arrived, the caller directed them to a storage unit where the two men were attempting to hide.
Deputies located Joseph Hiten, 31, Columbus, and Joshua Breeden, 37, Columbus. Hiten and Breeden were accused of cutting locks on two units, deputies said. A backpack was located with multiple burglary-related items inside.

Hiten and Breeden were taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on a preliminary charge of burglary.
Breeden remains in the jail in lieu of $15,000 bond. Hiten has since been released on bond.
