Bull Dogs top Owls

SEYMOUR — Columbus North swept the four places in the all-around competition Tuesday night in cruising to a 109.05-98.50 win at Seymour.

Emily Moore won the all-around with a 38.65. She swept the four individual events, taking the vault (9.6), bars (9.575), beam (9.725) and floor (9.75).

Madi Edwards finished second in the all-around with a 35.275. She also took second on the bars (8.75) and floor (9.3) and was third on the beam (8.625).

Lindsey Mullis placed third in the all-around with a 33.825. She also was third on the bars (8.15) and floor (9.275).

Abby Jacobi finished fourth in the all-around with a 33.725. She took second on the vault (8.9) and beam (8.8).

BOYS BASKETBALL

Hawks edge Crusaders

The Columbus Hawks home-school team slipped past Columbus Christian 73-71.

Jacob Conrad finished with a game-high 24 points for the Crusaders (13-11). Owen Reed had 13, and Nathan DeFriece added 11.

Hayden Stamper finished with a team-high 21 points for the Hawks.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Panthers rout Owls

NEW ALBANY — Jennings County cruised by Seymour 72-48 in the opening round of the Class 4A New Albany Sectional.

The Panthers (15-6) move on to face Floyd Central in the semifinals at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Eagles down Vikings

ELLETTSVILLE — Brown County and West Vigo were tied 28-28 at halftime, but the Eagles pulled away in the second half for a 63-52 win in the first round of the Class 3A Edgewood Sectional.

Abby Fleetwood led the Eagles (8-6) with 22 points. Katie Tipton scored 13, while Abigail Watson added 11 and Savannah Oden had 10.

Brown County will face South Vermillion in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Friday.
