Staff Reports
Bartholomew County Library locations will reopen Monday.
The Bartholomew County Public Library main entrance and exit will be at the Fifth Street door, library officials said.
Library staff is asking that patrons wishing to visit the library keep their visits as brief as possible due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The main public library will have a limit of 50 patrons at a time while the Hope Branch limit is 20.
All patrons are required to wear a mask at all times and to social distance.
The library has disposable masks, but people are encouraged to bring their own.
Public computers will be open for use at 50% capacity with time limits of one hour. Exceptions can be made for those applying for unemployment/TANF.
Library officials said at this time, chairs, tables, meeting rooms, and children’s play areas are not available.
The library’s popular curbside service is continuing. With this service, individuals may place items on hold and then are notified when they can drive to designated parking spaces in the main library’s parking lot and have a library employee deliver them to their car.
Home delivery of items, which currently includes those quarantining at home, or those at high risk for the virus, can contact the library’s Outreach Department at bookmobile@mybcpl.org or 812-379-1278.
The library’s Digital Underground will be available by appointment only and limited to the number of users allowed to use the space at one time.
At this time, all library programming remains virtual.
The Bartholomew County’s main library hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Hope Branch hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday.
