Duncan shoots 70, but misses cut

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Tyler Duncan improved by four shots from the first round to the second, but missed the cut to the final two rounds of the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Duncan, a 2008 Columbus North graduate, carded a 1-under par 70 on Friday. He shot 2-under 33 on the front nine and 1-over 37 on the back at TPC Scottsdale.

Duncan had opened with a 3-over 74 on Thursday and finished at 2-over 144 for 36 holes.

Xander Schaufelle leads the tournament at 12-under 130. Steve Stricker and Keegan Bradley are one shot back at 11-under 131.
