Olympians take second

BLOOMINGTON — Columbus East claimed five of the six places in the all-around competition Monday night, but finished second as a team in a tri meet at Bloomington South.

The host Panthers won with a score of 100.7. The Olympians scored a 98.2, and Edgewood took third with a 96.75.

Elise LaSell won the all-around with a 33.35. She also won the floor (8.9) and finished second on the vault (8.5) and bars (7.7) and fifth on the beam (8.25).

Cami Warren placed second in the all-around with a 32.55. She took fourth on the beam (8.5), fifth on the floor (8.5) and sixth on the bars (7.35).

Shelby Kendrick finished third in the all-around with a 31.7. She was fourth on the bars (7.5) and sixth on the vault (8.25).

Carlie Menefee placed fifth (30.1) and Winter Shaver  sixth (29.75) in the all-around.

GCA tops Trinity

SEYMOUR — Greenwood Christian jumped out to a 21-6 lead after one quarter Tuesday and went on to hand Trinity Lutheran a 65-48 defeat.

Hudson Norton led Trinity (5-12) with 14 points. Jack Marksberry added 10 points and 14 rebounds, and Mitchel Hackman had 10 points.
