COLUMBUS, Ind. — Bartholomew County officials are looking into whether a Bartholomew County Council meeting on Feb. 9 could have been a COVID-19 superspreader meeting.
Two Bartholomew County Commissioners, Larry Kleinhenz and Tony London, have tested positive for COVID-19. The third commissioner, Carl Lienhoop, did not attend the meeting in person.
The commissioners met with Bartholomew County Council members at the county office building on Feb. 9 without social distancing 6 feet apart, and with some participants not wearing masks.
Kleinhenz told a Republic reporter he tested positive on Monday.
Those not wearing masks at the meeting were IT director Scott Mayes, London, Kleinhenz, council president Scott Bonnell and councilman Bill Lentz.
Councilmen Greg Duke and Matt Miller were wearing masks while at the meeting, but were not seated 6 feet apart from other participants.
