Columbus North sophomore Daniel Utterback has earned a call-back to this weekend’s Boys Swimming State Finals in two individual events, and the Bull Frogs will receive call-backs in the 200-yard medley relay and 200 freestyle relay.
Utterback made it in the 200-yard freestyle and 100 freestyle. North and Columbus East both made it in the 200 medley relay, and the Bull Frogs also have earned call-backs in the 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay.
On Saturday, North senior Christopher Lee qualified in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke and teamed with Utterback and juniors David Fry and Carlos Fabian Aguilar to qualify in the 400 freestyle relay. East sophomore Beyer already had qualified for state in the 500 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.
The East and North contingent will compete in the second session of Friday’s preliminaries beginning at 5:30 p.m. at IUPUI’s Indiana University Natatorium. Finals and consolations start at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
