NORTH VERNON — The Jennings County Education Center has announced that its Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) program has been recognized as an innovative practice in adult education by the Advancing Innovation in Adult Education project, led by Manhattan Strategy Group and Abt Associates.
The project, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE), seeks to identify adult education programs that are advancing the field of adult education with their efforts to help learners develop knowledge and skills, gain secondary credentials, and transition to further education and employment.
The center is one of five practices selected nationally for enabling adult learners to obtain the academic and occupational skills needed to succeed in college or advance in their careers.
“JCEC is very excited and honored to be selected for the Advancing Innovation Project,” education center director Janice Suding said. “My entire staff has worked very hard to build collaborative partnerships with academic institutions, WorkOne, and community businesses to bring occupational training opportunities to Jennings County. We continue to grow opportunities and realize this could not happen without partnerships.”
