Panthers fall to Cubs

MADISON — Madison played the role of spoiler Friday night, preventing Jennings County from sharing the Hoosier Hills Conference title by handing the Panthers a 65-43 loss.

Jennings (12-10, 4-3) outscored the Cubs by four points in the second half, but could not overcome a 39-13 halftime deficit. Carson McNulty led the Panthers with nine points, while Jacob Vogel and Owen Law each added eight.

Cougars rout Knightstown

KNIGHTSTOWN — South Decatur jumped out to a 27-9 lead after one quarter and coasted to an 88-50 victory at Knightstown.

Hunter Johnson led the Cougars (14-7) with 30 points. Lane Lauderbaugh scored 22, while Jacob Scruggs added 19 and Tyler Sporleder had 11.

Brown County falls

NASHVILLE — Brown County was within 19-17 after the first quarter, but Evansville Day pulled away for a 66-44 victory.

Travis Ely led Brown County (1-14) with 20 points. Carter Kelly added 11.
