Duncan shoots 73, but misses cut at TPC

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — Tyler Duncan improved by seven shots over his first-round score, but missed the cut at The Players Championship.

Duncan, a 2008 Columbus North graduate, carded a 1-over-par 73 in Friday’s second round. He had opened with an 80 on Thursday and finished at 9-over 153 for 36 holes.

Lee Westwood leads the tournament at 9-under 135. Matthew Fitzpatrick is one shot back at 8-under 136, and Chris Kirk and Sergio Garcia are two back at 7-under 137.
