Local woman arrested on four warrants

Staff Reports

A local woman was arrested on four warrants after she was accused of lying about her identity while speaking with CPD officers on Monday morning.

Shortly before 10 a.m., CPD officers were dispatched to Walmart, 2315 Merchants Mile, in regards to a customer acting suspiciously inside the store, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

When officers arrived at the store, they made contact with a woman who falsely identified herself. The officers later confirmed the woman’s identity as Alexa A. Hicks, 29, of 1714 Beam Road, and determined that she had four Bartholomew County warrants for her arrest, Harris said.

Hicks was taken into custody and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on the warrants and an additional charge of false informing. She was being held without bond at the jail, jail officials said.
