Marksberry led the Cougars with 19 points and went over the 1,000-point mark for his career Saturday in a 63-38 loss to Barr-Reeve in the semifinals of the Loogootee Regional.
His performance last week: “I thought we executed well defensively. We got to the basket as we needed to. They just weren’t falling for us.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “Usually, we just do some walkthroughs and go over set plays.”

Madi Edwards // Columbus North junior gymnast
Edwards finished 24th in the all-around with a 34.95 at the Gymanstics State Finals. She was 30th on the bars (8.6), beam (8.525) and floor (8.825) and tied for 33rd on the vault (9.0).
Her performance last week: “I felt pretty good about it. It was a good time, and I think I did my best, so I’m pretty proud of it.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “I just make sure I get good sleep and good nutrition so that I can do my best.”
Favorite drink: “Pink lemonade”

Favorite class: “Astronomy”

Role model: “My sisters (Anissa and Tova Edwards)”
Best advice: “To pay attention to little things so you can find a lot more joy in life because there isn’s as much beauty and joy in the big things because there aren’t as many big things.”
Athletics goal: “To get better at what I do best and continue to improve.”
If you could travel anywhere: “I would go to Venice, Italy, because I think it would be interesting to see all the architecture and waterways that are there.”
