Traffic stop leads to arrest

COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Bartholomew County Sheriff K9 deputy arrested a local man after a traffic stop at 11:33 p.m. Monday in the 1500 block of State Street.

Deputy Brandon Sellers made the traffic stop, arresting Donald Kapetanios, 26, Columbus, who Sellers learned did not have a driver’s license, deputies said.

BCSO K9 Jari alerted to the odor of narcotics inside the vehicle where suspected methamphetamine, a syringe, partially burnt marijuana cigarettes and other drug-related paraphernalia were located, deputies said.

Kapetanios was remanded to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of:

–Possession of methamphetamine
–Possession of marijuana
–Possession of paraphernalia
–Possession of a syringe
–Operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license.
