Jets blank Panthers

NORTH VERNON — Paige McDaniel threw a two-hit shutout with nine strikeouts Monday to lead Hauser to a 3-0 win at Jennings County.

Kyra Meister went 2 for 4 to lead an eight-hit attack for the Jets (2-0). Dani Steward had two RBIs.

Delaney McCreary doubled in the sixth inning, and Skylar Weber tripled in the seventh for the only hits for the Panthers, who were playing their season opener.

Seymour stops Eagles

NASHVILLE — Seymour scored 12 times in the first two innings and went on to hand Brown County a 15-0, five-inning loss in its season opener.

The Eagles were limited to one hit, a double by pitcher Abigail Watson.

SEYMOUR — Tyler Goecker threw a five-inning perfect game with 11 strikeouts in an 11-0 season-opening win against Edinburgh.

Jack Marksberry went 3 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs to lead the Cougars at the plate. Andrew Bell went 2 for 3 with a double.
