Doug Leonard, executive director of the Alliance for Substance Abuse Progress (ASAP), today announced his intent to retire as executive director in the summer of 2021.
He has served as executive director since July of 2019, and previously served as the president and CEO of Columbus Regional Health from 1997 – 2007, and president of the Indiana Hospital Association from 2007 – 2017.
“Doug has provided outstanding leadership and we are blessed to have had the opportunity to serve with him. He leaves the organization in strong standing from both a reputational and operational standpoint,” said Mark Stewart, president of the ASAP board of directors, and president of the United Way of Bartholomew County. “Doug helped bring the early laid plans of ASAP to life and he will be missed.”
Leonard became executive director in July of 2019, succeeding Interim Executive Director Jeff Jones.
