INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health announced today that 970 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 700,775 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
To date, 12,762 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 16 from the previous day. Another 405 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record.
A total of 3,307,770 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 3,306,130 on Monday. A total of 9,264,312 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26, 2020.
Bartholomew County reported 7,824 positive tests (up six) with 153 deaths (no change) as of Tuesday.
Surrounding counties reported:
- Jackson County: 4,907 positive cases (up six) with 69 deaths (no change).
- Jennings County: 2,242 positive cases (up one) with 47 deaths (no change).
- Decatur County: 2,785 positive cases (no change) with 92 deaths (no change).
- Shelby County: 4,760 positive cases (up eight) with 95 deaths (no change).
- Johnson County: 17,387 positive cases (up 25) with 373 deaths (up two).
- Brown County: 993 positive cases (up three) with 40 deaths (no change).

As of Tuesday, a total of 3,451,895 doses have been administered in Indiana. This includes 2,018,362 first doses and 1,433,533 individuals who are fully vaccinated. The fully vaccinated number represents individuals who have received a second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines and those who received the single Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
