Cougars down Shawe
MADISON — South Decatur scored three times in the sixth and twice in the seventh to break a 7-7 tie and post a 12-7 win Wednesday at Shawe Memorial.
Avery Seegers went 2 for 3 with a double and four RBIs to lead the Cougars (5-6), who outhit the Hilltoppers 9-6. Ben Stier went 2 for 4 with a double, and Devin Pate went 2 for 4.
Zaydun Sharp had two RBIs and picked up the win in relief of Pate.

Cougar boys win quad
OSGOOD — South Decatur’s boys won, and the girls finished second in a quad meet Tuesday at Jac-Cen-Del.
The Cougar boys scored 73.5 points to 69 for Oldenburg Academy, 65.5 for Jac-Cen-Del and one for Trinity Lutheran. Jac-Cen-Del won the girls meet with 77 points to 70 for South Decatur, 65 for Oldenburg and 10 for Trinity.
Kelby Shook was the lone winner for the Cougar boys, taking the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 11 inches. For the girls, Lana Bell took the high jump (4-10) and discus (90-8), and Kate Hamilton captured the 1,600 meters (6 minutes, 47.7 seconds) and 3,200 (15:06.9).
