Club Olympia swims in dual at Franklin

Club Olympia Swim Team competed in its first-ever dual meet Thursday in a non-scored competition at Franklin Regional Swim Team.

Club Olympia swimmers won 13 of the 32 individual events and finished first and second in five events. Ashley Freel, Maggie Johnson, Annie Murer and Hope Westphal won both the girls 200-meter freestyle relay and 200 medley relay.

Connelly Furnish and Tony Machavariani won both of their individual races and achieved the Age Group State cuts. Single event winners included Advika Badve, Brady Beyer, Zoie Chandelkar, Freel, Shreyan Kulkarni, Joshua Pendleton and Westphal.

Both of Pendleton’s swims made the Age Group State time standard. Misha Machavariani also achieved an Age Group State cut in one event and just missed in his second event. Beyer made the Senior State cut in the event he won, and the Girls A 200 freestyle relay team missed the SRS cut by four-hundreths of a second.

Chandelkar, Cole Ehara, Freel, Todd Hundley, Johnson, Sanaa Kulkarni, Shreyan Kulkarni, Ty Mayer (swimming unattached), Murer, Westphal and Dathan Wolf all achieved two Summer Divisional Championship cuts. Advika Badve, Pratt Badve, Beyer, Cassidy Furnish and Brooklyn Pendleton all earned one Summer Divisional Championship cut.
