The phone system at Columbus City Utilities is operational again. Customers should call the main number at 812-372-8861 during regular business hours and for emergency service after regular business hours.
The staff thanked the community for its patience as the issue was resolved.

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The phone system at the Columbus City Utilities is not working Thursday morning, officials their said.
Staff and a vendor are working hard to get everything operational again, but there is not a current estimate on how long the system will unavailable.
If any customer has a service emergency and needs to contact the utilities, call the temporary number 812-657-1153.
Interim Director Keith Reeves said the city utilities apologize for the inconvenience and want to thank all customers for their patience.
