INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health announced today that 1,261 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 726,600 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
To date, 12,966 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of six from the previous day. Another 413 probable deaths have been reported to date based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record.
A total of 3,407,170 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 3,401,725 on Wednesday. A total of 9,939,840 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26, 2020.
Bartholomew County reported 8,042 positive tests (up four) with 155 deaths (no change) as of Thursday.
Surrounding counties reported:
- Jackson County: 5,004 positive cases (up three) with 72 deaths (no change).
- Jennings County: 2,292 positive cases (up two) with 48 deaths (no change).
- Decatur County: 2,835 positive cases (up two) with 92 deaths (no change).
- Shelby County: 4,894 positive cases (up nine) with 96 deaths (no change).
- Johnson County: 17,876 positive cases (up 19) with 377 deaths (up one).
- Brown County: 1,015 positive cases (up one) with 41 deaths (no change).

As of today, a total of 4,453,018 doses have been administered in Indiana. This includes 2,406,936 first doses and 2,046,082 individuals who are fully vaccinated. The fully vaccinated number represents individuals who have received a second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines and those who received the single Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
