This is not a political statement.
The inherent combative nature of man works to our disadvantage. At any time, we can find war being waged somewhere in our world — probably several wars. Dissension is always with us.
In our country the minority leader of the U.S. Senate has announced that his entire focus is on stopping the new administration when that focus should be on enacting good legislation for the benefit of our country. When a prior president was chosen, that minority leader said, "Our job is to see to it that he doesn’t get a second term." Really his job was to enact good legislation and to try to work with the then newly elected president even if that president was combative also.
If all of our elected representatives took the stance of the one I mentioned, we would have stalemate and maybe even civil war — and we’ve already had that. Also, a stalemate could lead to anarchy.
We must try to get along with each other, difficult as it is because of our inherent nature.
