COLUMBUS, INDIANA
Eric M. Cavanaugh, 19, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life Tuesday, June 1, 2021 in Columbus.
Eric was born July 15, 2001, in Columbus, Indiana, the second child born to Kyle J. and Susanne M. Phillips Cavanaugh.
Eric was a member of the 2020 graduating class of Columbus East High School and was employed at AMC Theatre in Columbus.
Eric was a Boy Scout, enjoyed camping and was interested in Manga and Anime. He was a good boy that loved his family and everybody that was a friend to him.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his parents, Kyle and Susanne Cavanaugh of Columbus; brother, Ian Cavanaugh of Reno, Nevada; sister, Cecilia Cavanaugh of Columbus; grandparents, Ramona Cavanaugh of Lafayette, Indiana and Thomas and Nancy Phillips of Lafayette, Indiana; uncles, Keith Cavanaugh of Chicago, Illinois, Thomas Phillips II of West Lafayette, Indiana and Michael Phillips of Rossville, Indiana; and many great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and other relatives.
Eric was preceded in death by his grandfather, David Cavanaugh and an uncle, Kevin Cavanaugh.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church; Father Chris Wadelton will be the celebrant.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street and from 10:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church. The Rosary Recitation will be led by Deacon Bill Jones at 6:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Eric will be laid to rest at the Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eric M. Cavanaugh Memorial Fund, please make checks payable to his father, Kyle Cavanaugh.
