Columbus police are investigating after a man robbed a gas station with a knife on Wednesday evening.
At approximately 10:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Marathon gas station located at 3350 West Jonathan Moore Pike, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
During the course of the officers’ investigation, they determined that a man entered the store and got into a verbal altercation with the clerk after demanding a vape pen, Harris said.
The suspect, who was described as a tall, white male, with a thin build, brandished a knife and threatened the clerk, Harris said. The suspect, who had a red/brown beard and was wearing a black Freddy’s restaurant sweatshirt, blue jeans, and dark colored shoes and hat left the store with a undisclosed number of vape pens.

Investigators said they plan to share additional photos and video of the suspect with the public and media once they become available.
