COLUMBUS
Jane Sullivan, 72, of Columbus, passed from this life on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at 6:16 a.m. at her residence.
Mrs. Sullivan was born on June 8, 1949, in Vincennes, Indiana the daughter of Herbert L. and Mary E. Snively Redfern. On May 17, 1980, in Columbus she married Terry W. Sullivan.
Jane was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. In her younger years she enjoyed being an E.M.T. and being involved in the medical field, she was instrumental in starting PromptMed here in Columbus. Jane enjoyed being involved with Operation Safe Prom and had a passion for designing florals arrangements. Upon the passing of their son, she and her husband started Garden of Grace Gift Shop, Jane wanted to be able to reach out to other’s that were experiencing grief and help them in a time of need. Jane always had such a gentleness about her and brought comfort to many. She had a tremendous love for her family and was strong in her faith.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Terry W. Sullivan of Columbus; daughters, Staci (Robert) Hufty of Columbus, Leslie D. Prentice of Taylorsville, and Brooke (Patrick) Ahrens of Columbus; grandchildren, Grace Hufty, Adalyn Hufty, Corbin Ahrens, Colton Ahrens; and siblings, Rita (Joe) Donahue, Bill (Sue) Redfern, Bob (Kim) Redfern, and Teresa (Steve) Litherland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kelcey W. Sullivan; and a sister, Kathy Redfern.
A funeral service will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Mark Teike officiating.
Family and friends may call for visitation on Monday from 11:00 a.m. till time of service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or St. Peter’s Lutheran School.
